Gosport Borough player/manager Craig McAllister is hoping to have two new players in his side for the visit of Beaconsfield Town to Privett Park this Saturday (3pm) writes Brian Seeney.
McAllister (pictured) is talking to an experienced defender and an experienced midfielder and he is aiming to sign both in time to be in the squad for the game against the Stags.
"At the moment we are giving away goals too easily and we've been talking about that now for too long," said McAllister.
"I'm really desperate for this group of players to do well and succeed.
"But we've given people enough opportunities and I think personnel needs to change. We are not looking at huge numbers - we are looking at one or two that I think will make a difference.
"We have lots of good young players with lots of potential but I think we need one or two to make the spine of the team so that it has more experience.
"We need know-how to help these young players on the pitch.
"There is a possibility we may have them signed for this Saturday but it is a very difficult time of the season to recruit.
"The players we bring in have got to be the right players for us - players who want to come here and want to do well.
"There are lots of young players out there that are available but I think we need a little bit more experience.
"I think we are short of two.
"It's still early in the season but I think we need some older heads who've been there and done it because at the moment there are too many boys out there on the pitch."
