Gosport Borough lost 3-1 to Walton Casuals in their league clash at the Elmridge Sports Hub this afternoon.
The Casuals started the fixture with lots of intent as star of the show Taureen Roberts showed some excellent individual skill to beat his marker and cause the Boro backline all kinds of problems.
It wasn't long until Roberts' brilliance resulted in a goal as he got the better of Alexander Lafleur, crossing to find Dan Bennett whose header put the Casuals ahead after eight minutes.
Boro kept pressing but Walton's well organised defence limited Boro's chances.
As the second half got underway, both teams were playing with a very high work rate and seven minutes into the half, Roberts scored the home side's second goal in the 52nd minute.
Within two minutes, player/manager Craig McAllister put the ball in the back of the Walton net but his joy was short-lived by an offside decision.
Both teams then had scoring chances but it was the Casuals who made theirs count six minutes before the end when James Newington nodded the ball into the left side of the net to put The Stags 3-0 up.
Immediately from the restart, Matt Tubbs had the last word with a goal for the Boro.
