The Boro' lose at Chesham

Gosport conceded three in another away loss

The Boro’ arrived at a sunny Chesham full of hope and anticipation.

From the off Gosport struggled to gain any real momentum, a game of head tennis took over the first five minutes.

On the eight-minute mark Gosport conceded an early goal, Jefferson Louis bullied his way into the box and then slotted his shot to the bottom left. Great passing play from the home side leading up to the goal.

On the half-hour mark, Dave Pearce sent a cross into The Boro’s box, the bobbly pitch nearly got the better of O’Flaherty with a save off the line. The Meadow’s pitch may have seen better day’s, the ball spent most the game bouncing around.

At the halftime mark Gosport had a few chances not taken, a very frustrating first half with the home side not deserving the lead going into the break.

The second half started and Gosport came out looking to make something of the game.

On the hour make Chesham’s goalkeeper saw red for a horrendous tackle just outside the box, Scott McGleish then going between the sticks. The resulting free-kick saw a surprisingly good save by the makeshift keeper.

Hearts lifted amount The Boro’ camp, some great passing play lead to a number of chances not taken.

Gosport’s luck seemed all but gone when Patrick O’Flaherty missed kicking a back pass from James Harper, the ball went under the keeper's feet and trickled into the back of the net.

Two-nil up and the home side sprung to life, keeping hold of the ball for the majority of the game. The Boro’ unable to take advantage of ten men Chesham and the makeshift goalkeeper.

In the final seconds of the game, the home side was awarded a penalty, Matt Bevans slotted home securing the three points for Chesham.
