Luckless Gosport just couldn’t grab a winner against Hayes & Yeading.

With Gosport determined to add more of a striking threat to their resolute defence so far this season, the game started well for the BORO’, with a number of clear chances created and the Privett crowd only had to wait until the 13th minute for the goal they craved.

To the delight of the home crowd, Mat Paterson got on the scoresheet with a sweet curling shot after being put through by Rory Williams. 1 - 0

However the first goal conceded by Gosport from open play this season, came in the 28th minute when United’s Switters manages to loop his header over O’Flaherty. 1 - 1

The referee turned down an appeal for hand ball for the BORO’ and the first half ended all square.

Josh Huggins made way for Charlie Kennedy at the start of the second half - shortly after Arg came on for Liam Robinson as BORO’ went searching for the winner.

Gosport were so unlucky not to go ahead in the 64th minute, after a number of goal bound efforts were beaten away, with Barker having a certain winner cleared off the line by the resolute Hayes & Yeading defence.

United were still in the game and threatening, but they had their goalkeeper to thank after he made a great save from Pato in the final minutes.

The game ended frustratingly all square at 1 - 1
