New Manager - New Team - New Challenge - New Optimism.
After an exciting close season, that has seen the arrival of new manager Lee Molyneaux with his new back room team, and a host of new quality player signings - our pre season games kick off at `Privett Park’ tonight against AFC Totton, kick off 7:45pm.
The BORO’ squad have been giving everything in pre-season training so far, and are biting at the bit to get going and show everyone that they are gelling as a unit.
With the quality squad that Moly has assembled, there is an air of optimism amongst the Gosport faithful.
AFC Totton are the welcome visitors, and there’s an extra slice of interest in the game with BORO’ new signing Callum Chugg making the switch from ‘The Stags’ to Gosport recently.
Speaking exclusively to the club’s official website, Assistant Manager Ben Kneller gives his thoughts ahead of the game.
‘We are really looking forward to getting out on the pitch now, the lads haven’t been back in for too long but they’ve worked very hard, with many new faces, a new structure and processes in place.
‘There’s a really good feel around the dressing room already, and all at the club have welcomed what ‘The Gaffer’ and the staff have put into place.
‘We couldn’t ask for better opponents in our first pre-season friendly. AFC Totton are a seriously well run club. What Louis Langdown and Adam Wilde have done there is impressive, they believe in young players, they conduct themselves in the right way and no doubt it’ll be a tough friendly played in the right spirit. We’ve told the boys there’s no pressure, go out, enjoy it, express yourselves and smile while doing so.
‘We just hope being a Friday night, that a few locals or non league fans will venture down to Privett Park to see this new looking Gosport Borough side.
The club are hoping for a decent crowd to watch the game, which will give supporters their first view of our squad for next season’s campaign.
Please come along and get behind the boys!
Admission prices on the night are: Adults £5, Concessions £2, Aged 10 - 18 yrs £2, under 10’s Free.
