The first game of the season is this Saturday (10th August) when the new BORO’ take on early league favourites Taunton at Privett Park - kick off 3pm.
Manager Lee Molineaux gives his thoughts on last Friday’s final pre-season game and the challenge ahead.
‘We knew from training and previous pre-season friendlies, that the players were starting to learn how we will function this season.
The players have now built a good understanding of each other’s playing strengths and as a management team we have learnt how to best utilise those strengths to beat our opponents.
‘The Bognor game was a coming together of many things and we reaped the rewards.
I was extremely impressed with our work ethic, getting forward in numbers but also working hard to maintain shape out of possession to become hard to break down, and that we were.
‘Maybe it was the frustration of trying to break us down that led to Bognor’s sendings off. Take nothing away from a bright, hard working team performance by us that’ll set us up nicely going into Saturdays game against Taunton, although, we’re not naive enough to think that the Taunton game will be like the Bognor game!
‘We will prepare properly this week and keep our feet firmly on the ground as we look to get off to the perfect start. We can’t wait to get the season underway and we count on your support to help us win together.
Come on the BORO’
